Mini-bus hire for home games

This is something a few of us have been talking about recently and myself and Steve (Wakefield Bluebird) have had a few quites from various companies, some with drivers and some self-drive.
The cheapest we've had for a 15-seater mini-bus including a driver to go to Ninian and back in a day is £450. Even with a full bus that's £30 per person and I'm not sure if that included any pick-ups en-route. Probably not worth it, but still worth considering.
As for self-drive, I've had two decent looking quotes. One for £138 for the weekend and the other was £150 but that one included 200 miles worth of fuel. The obvious flaw in that plan is a driver as you have to be over 25 to drive a mini-bus from a hire company and I'm 21. Plus 2 drivers would probably be needed as it's a hell of a trek from Teesside there and back in a day. Maybe doing the self-drive thing from the Leeds area would be better?
If anyone has any ideas as to how we can make this work at some point in the future I'd like to hear them. It'd be great to have a cheap form of travel to home games whilst having the banter that goes with having a decent crowd of people on a bus.

I'll see if I can get some Leeds based quotes before Saturday.
As you are too young to driver a mini bus (ah bless), we'll be stuck if Andy or your dad can't do the first leg from the North East to at least Yorkshire.
Welcome aboard raz5765 !
I think an experiment for at least 1 game this season is called for with the intention, hopefully, of doing every Saturday home game next season in our new home.
Yeah, Leeds would probably be a better start point, but at least we now have the info so Teesside is always an option. As long as we have plenty of people willing to share the driving it won't be so bad. I doubt there would be many people up for driving the whole way for every home game in a season. I'd love to drive for a bit but I suppose I'll have to stick to being drunk and rowdy instead
If we were going to try it for one game this season, the jacks game in April is as good as any if we can't get it sorted before then as I imagine most people will probably want to do that one.

I can't drive like, but I'll be up for the odd home match visit like, not bad quotes if some don't mind sharing the driving...
I'll just get blotto in the back!

Excellent, we've got more drunkards than drivers so far I think! Backseat Barmy Army!
